The Molecular Microbiology, and Immunology Lab – Micro. Mol aims at:
- Covering graduate and postgraduate academic and research needs of the Department as well as other Departments in the University of West Attica in sectors that concern the Lab’s academic fields and form part of the curriculum of the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
- Supporting doctoral and post-doctoral research in fields relevant to the teaching and research subjects of the lab.
- Promoting academic and research collaboration between professors and researchers sharing similar or complementary expertise in University of West Attica.
- Cooperating with Research Centers and Academic Foundations that share common goals in Greece and abroad. Teaching and research needs are met in the context of cooperation between institutions. The University of West Attica encourages teamwork between institutions.
- Cooperating with public entities, local authorities, academic and professional organizations, international organizations or unions, as well as organizations in the private sector in relevant academic fields in order to deal with contemporary issues.
- Meeting social needs whenever the staff’s expertise is being asked.
- Conducting clinical, experimental, and research programs and studies in order to seek new techniques, diagnostic and non-diagnostic, that concern the Lab’s academic fields.
- Issuing an opinion as experts in fields relating to the Lab’s academic fields, according to current legislation.
- Carrying out consulting or developmental works and studies as well as conducting national and international research in order to cover societal needs.
- Providing services to private individuals and organizations according to Presidential Decree 159/1984 (Official Government Gazette 53/ issue A’/ 27-04-1984) “Conditions for provision of service by university labs to private individuals and legal organizations”.
- Securing funded research in academic fields that the Laboratory staff are experts at by national and international resources.
- Cooperating with National, European and International Organizations in order to conduct research, academic programs and activities relating to the Lab’s academic fields.
- Hosting scientific lectures, meetings, seminars, symposiums, conferences, and scientific events, and making publications in order to promote knowledge, training, and research and to invite accredited academics from Greece and foreign countries.
